Installation Design
t1 = CCTV system camera, equipped with pan/tilt
t2 = CCTV system camera, equipped with pan/tilt
TV1 = control monitor
TV2 = control monitor
The two cameras are installed in the centre of a room, hung from the same pan/tilt arm anchored on the ceiling, and positioned so that their lenses are each facing in the opposite direction to the other. The overall environment of the installation is thus divided into two symmetrical parts, within which the two monitors are placed, one on each side. Each camera is connected to the monitor installed in the part of the space opposite the one it is filming in its surveillance tour. Each monitor is installed so as to fall into the camera’s shooting field. Rotating from right to left and vice versa, each camera checks at regular intervals portions of the allocated space, including the monitor that transmits the images of the other camera’s inspection of the other half of the room. As each camera frames the monitor in its own inspection space, the other monitor in the other half of the room appears on the monitor screen.
